Eriodictyol chalcone

Antioxidant

Eriodictyol chalcone is an antioxidant compound primarily targeting various key enzymes, including 5-LOX (IC50 = 0.043 µM), aromatase/CYP19A1 (IC50 = 2.8 µM), PTPase 1B (IC50 = 1.26 µM), and COX (IC50 = 34 µM). It demonstrates significant free radical scavenging activity and has been shown to inhibit the growth of plasmodia while enhancing the efficacy of Artemisinin. Additionally, Eriodictyol chalcone has potential therapeutic applications in alleviating depression-like behaviors in animal models and may be explored for its effects on breast cancer and related diseases. This compound also serves as a biosynthetic precursor for Aureusidin, making it valuable in research on malaria and depression.
