Factor B Inhibitor

Factor B-IN-8 is a selective inhibitor of Factor B, exhibiting a potent inhibition with an IC50 value of 10.2 nM. This compound effectively disrupts the binding of Factor B to C3b, preventing the formation of C3 convertase (C3bBb) and reducing the deposition of the membrane attack complex (MAC) related to the alternative pathway at an IC50 of 59.3 nM. Factor B-IN-8 has demonstrated the ability to decrease Factor B protein cleavage and reduce complement C3d deposition in glomeruli and renal tubules, making it a valuable tool for research in arthritis and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH).
