Fenquizone

Diuretic

Fenquizone is an orally active diuretic that primarily targets the diluting segment of the nephron cortex, functioning similarly to thiazide diuretics. This compound exhibits diuretic and natriuretic effects with a potency and duration of action that, while comparable to thiazides, is weaker than that of loop diuretics. Fenquizone effectively reduces CH₂O without influencing TCH₂O or increasing calcium and phosphate excretion, and it does not affect the loop or collecting duct. It is employed in research focused on edema and hypertension.
