Fibrostatin C

Prolyl Hydroxylase Inhibitor

Fibrostatin C is a potent prolyl hydroxylase inhibitor that regulates collagen biosynthesis. This compound enhances the presence of cytoplasmic granules that are immunoreactive to collagen I and III, while also suppressing the secretion of type I collagen in Tenon’s capsule fibroblasts. Fibrostatin C is of significant value for investigating wound fibrotic responses, particularly in the context of glaucoma filtering surgery.
