Fluorene

Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon

Fluorene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) that induces oxidative stress and inflammatory responses through the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and superoxide dismutase (SOD). It is known to exacerbate lipid peroxidation and modulate antioxidant enzyme activity, leading to the upregulation of pro-inflammatory factors such as TNF-α and IL-6 in A549 cells. Additionally, Fluorene exhibits anxiolytic activity in vivo, making it a valuable compound for research into inflammation and neurological disorders.
