Frenolicin B

Prx1 Inhibitor

Frenolicin B is a selective covalent inhibitor of Peroxiredoxin 1 (Prx1), exhibiting an IC50 of 0.2 μM. It exerts its inhibitory effect through the covalent modification of critical active-site cysteines (Cys83 and Cys173) in the enzyme. Given its antiparasitic properties, Frenolicin B has potential applications in research related to malignancies such as colon, breast, and lung cancer, as well as in studies focusing on malaria.
