Fructose 5-dehydrogenase (acceptor)

Flavohemo Protein

Fructose 5-dehydrogenase (acceptor) is a membrane-bound flavohemo-protein that catalyzes the oxidation of D-fructose to 5-keto-D-fructose. This enzyme is composed of three subunits: subunit I (67 kDa), subunit II (51 kDa), and subunit III (20 kDa). Its activity is essential for studying carbohydrate metabolism and can be valuable in investigating metabolic pathways and the physiological role of fructose oxidation in various biological systems.
