Fumonisin B2-13C34

Sphingosine N-acyltransferase Inhibitor

Fumonisin B2-13C34 is a 13C-labeled derivative of Fumonisin B2, known for its role as a potent inhibitor of sphingosine N-acyltransferase, also referred to as ceramide synthase. This mycotoxin, produced by the fungus Fusarium moniliforme in various grains, effectively disrupts de novo sphingolipid biosynthesis. Fumonisin B2-13C34 is valuable for studying sphingolipid metabolism and its implications in cellular signaling, making it an important tool for biochemical research and toxicology studies.
