Fumonisin B3

Mycotoxin

Fumonisin B3 is a mycotoxin produced by Fusarium fungi, classified within the fumonisins family. This compound primarily inhibits ceramide synthase, resulting in disrupted sphingolipid metabolism. Fumonisin B3 is utilized in research for studying its effects on cell growth, apoptosis, and its potential implications in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegeneration. Its properties make it a valuable tool for investigating the molecular mechanisms of mycotoxin toxicity and associated pathophysiological processes.
