Funalenone
MraY/MurG Inhibitor
Funalenone is an inhibitor of MraY and MurG, demonstrating an IC50 of 25.5 μM in membrane plate assays. It exhibits antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 64 μg/mL. Additionally, Funalenone inhibits matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) with an IC50 of 170 μM, making it a valuable tool for research in bacterial biology and potential therapeutic applications.
