Furosemide sodium

NKCC Inhibitor

Furosemide sodium is a potent inhibitor of the Na+/K+/2Cl- cotransporter (NKCC), specifically targeting NKCC1 and NKCC2. This compound also functions as an antagonist of GABAA receptors, demonstrating a 100-fold selectivity for α6-containing receptors over α1-containing receptors. Furosemide sodium is utilized primarily as a loop diuretic and is valuable in research applications related to congestive heart failure, hypertension, and edema.
