Glucosyltransferase Inhibitor
G43 is a selective inhibitor of glucosyltransferases, exhibiting Kd values of 3.7 μM and 46.9 nM for GtfB and GtfC, respectively. This compound demonstrates significant antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans both in vitro and in vivo. G43 is particularly valuable in research related to dental caries and offers insights into the mechanisms of bacterial glycosylation.
