GD3 Ganglioside
Mitochondrial Permeability Inducer
GD3 Ganglioside is a critical ganglioside found in human melanoma that acts as a mitochondrial permeability inducer. It directly targets mitochondria in a Bcl-2-controlled manner, facilitating the release of pro-apoptotic factors. GD3 ganglioside is synthesized rapidly from ceramide following the clustering of death-inducing receptors, thereby triggering apoptotic pathways.
