GEA 3162
NO/ONOO⁻ Donor
GEA 3162 is a potent NO/ONOO⁻ donor that plays a crucial role in modulating inflammatory responses. It significantly inhibits the activation of human polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) via the cGMP signaling pathway and decreases the release of inflammatory mediators, demonstrating its anti-inflammatory properties. In apoptosis assays, GEA 3162 activates caspases 2, 3, 8, and 9, thereby inducing programmed cell death in neutrophils and bone marrow cells through the ONOO⁻ pathway. Its dose-dependent effects observed in rat gastric ulcer models render GEA 3162 a valuable tool for investigating inflammatory conditions, particularly gastric ulcers.
