Geiparvarin

Anticancer Agent

Geiparvarin is a potent anticancer agent that acts as an inhibitor of monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B), exhibiting a pIC50 value of 6.84 μM. This compound exerts anti-tumor effects by downregulating COX2 expression and inhibiting angiogenesis, effectively blocking the cell cycle at the G1 phase and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. Additionally, Geiparvarin demonstrates anti-microtubule activity, disrupting the cytoskeleton to inhibit cellular proliferation. It holds significance in research related to lung cancer, leukemia, and breast cancer.
