Gibberellenic acid

Gibberellin Compound

Gibberellenic acid is an intermediate gibberellin compound characterized by its tetracyclic diterpenoid structure. This compound is generated through the thermal decomposition of Gibberellic acid (GA3) in aqueous solutions. Gibberellenic acid is thermally unstable in water, leading to its conversion into allogibberic acid (approximately 80%) and 9-epiallogibberic acid (about 10%). It serves a crucial role in the degradation pathway of gibberellins and aids in the structural elucidation of these plant growth regulators.
