Ginkgolic acid C17:1

Antitumor Agent

Ginkgolic acid C17:1 is a potent inhibitor of fatty acid synthase (FAS), exhibiting an IC50 of 10.5 µM. This compound demonstrates significant antitumor activity by inhibiting STAT3 phosphorylation and promoting apoptotic processes. Additionally, Ginkgolic acid C17:1 effectively disrupts the interaction between S-RBD and ACE2, showing promise against SARS-CoV-2-S pseudovirus. Furthermore, it has been shown to inhibit biofilm formation in pathogenic strains of enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, underscoring its potential in antimicrobial research.
