GK-136901
Nox1/Nox4 Inhibitor
GK-136901 is a potent dual inhibitor of Nox1 and Nox4 NADPH oxidases, exhibiting inhibition constants (Ki) of 160 nM and 165 nM, respectively. This compound effectively reduces high glucose-induced reactive oxygen species production, p38-MAPK phosphorylation, and the upregulation of TGF-β1/2 and fibronectin in renal cells. Additionally, GK-136901 inhibits the proliferation of pulmonary vascular cells under hypoxic conditions. It is a valuable tool for investigating the mechanisms underlying type 2 diabetic nephropathy, high glucose-associated renal damage, and pulmonary hypertension.
