Glycochenodeoxycholic acid-d4

Stable Isotope

Glycochenodeoxycholic acid-d4 is a deuterium-labeled derivative of glycochenodeoxycholic acid, a bile acid synthesized in the liver from chenodeoxycholate and glycine. This compound functions as a detergent, facilitating the solubilization and absorption of dietary fats. In addition, glycochenodeoxycholic acid has been shown to induce apoptosis in hepatocytes, making it a valuable tool for investigating liver cell death and related metabolic pathways. Its stable isotope properties enhance its applicability in metabolic studies and tracer experiments.
