SARM1 Base-exchange Inhibitor

GNE-5152 is an orthosteric inhibitor of the SARM1 base-exchange mechanism. It selectively inhibits SARM1 activation and prevents the resultant increase in NAD consumption, which is critical in the pathogenesis of neurodegeneration. This compound is useful in studies related to neurodegenerative diseases, particularly in investigating axonal degradation and the release of neurofilament-light (NfL) in cortical neurons.
