Apoptosi
HDAC8-IN-13 is a selective inhibitor of histone deacetylase 8 (HDAC8) that demonstrates significant antiparasitic activity. By effectively inhibiting the acetyl-L-lysine deacetylase activity in schistosomes, HDAC8-IN-13 impacts the infectivity of these parasites and induces apoptosis in schistosome cells. Its design minimizes affinity for human HDACs, thereby enhancing selectivity and potential applications in studying parasitic diseases and their cellular mechanisms.
