HEPPSO

Cu(II) Chelator

HEPPSO is a zwitterionic Good's buffer that targets Cu(II) as a chelator, forming a stable 1:1 complex with Cu2+ through its hydroxyalkyl and tertiary amine groups. This buffer is suitable for physiological pH conditions and exhibits the ability to form high-order oligomers in aqueous solutions. However, the presence of a trace impurity that lacks the alkanesulfonic acid side chain may influence copper speciation analysis, particularly in environmental studies involving natural water systems. Researchers should consider this potential interference when designing experiments involving copper.
