Heptamidine dimethanesulfonate

S100B Inhibitor

Heptamidine dimethanesulfonate is a potent inhibitor of the calcium-binding protein S100B, exhibiting a binding affinity (Kd) of 6.9 μM. This compound selectively induces apoptosis in melanoma cells expressing S100B while sparing those that do not, making it a valuable tool in cancer research. Additionally, Heptamidine dimethanesulfonate is useful for investigating myotonic dystrophy (DM) and its associated pathways.
