Hibiscolactone A

Superoxide Anion Generation Inhibitor

Hibiscolactone A is a 2H-naphtho[2,3-b]furan-2-one derivative that functions as a superoxide anion generation inhibitor. Isolated from the stems of Pachira aquatica, Hibiscolactone A exhibits significant inhibitory activity against fMLP-induced superoxide anion production in human neutrophils, with an IC50 value of 63.22 μM. This compound is valuable for studying oxidative stress and its implications in various inflammatory conditions.
