Homopropargylglycine

Methionine Analog

Homopropargylglycine is a methionine analogue that serves as a valuable reagent in protein synthesis. It can be incorporated into newly synthesized proteins in various systems, including mammalian cell cultures, allowing for the identification of both old and newly formed protein populations. Additionally, this compound features an alkyne group, enabling its application in click chemistry through copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc) with azide-containing molecules, thus expanding its utility in biochemical research.
