Idarubicin

Topo II Inhibitor

Idarubicin is a potent topoisomerase II inhibitor with significant applications in cancer research, particularly in the treatment of leukemias. This anthracycline compound disrupts DNA replication and RNA transcription, leading to DNA damage and inhibition of DNA synthesis. Additionally, idarubicin is known to downregulate c-myc expression, making it a valuable tool for studying oncogenic pathways. Its antimicrobial properties further expand its utility in various biological research contexts.
