IgdE protease

Immunoglobulin Degrading Enzyme

IgdE protease is a cysteine protease derived from Streptococcus agalactiae, specifically targeting immunoglobulin G (IgG1) antibodies. This enzyme cleaves mAbs at the upper hinge region, resulting in the generation of Fc/2 and hinge peptide dimers, alongside Fab fragments. IgdE protease is an effective tool for analyzing disulfide bonds and free thiols, as it operates without the need for reducing agents, facilitating more straightforward experimental conditions.
