Ilepatril

Angiotensin-converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitor

Ilepatril is a dual inhibitor of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and neutral endopeptidase, providing significant therapeutic potential in managing type 2 diabetic nephropathy. In studies using the obese Zucker diabetic fatty (ZDF) rat model, Ilepatril demonstrated a dose-dependent reduction in albuminuria. This compound offers a novel approach that extends beyond traditional metabolic control, targeting the underlying mechanisms of type 2 diabetic nephropathy.
