IP6C

Thoeris System Inhibitor

IP6C is a specific inhibitor targeting the type II Thoeris immune system, effectively competing with histidine binding in the catalytic pocket of ThsB. By inhibiting His-ADPR alarm signal production, IP6C facilitates phage replication by relieving bacterial stasis. Notably, IP6C resensitizes drug-resistant bacteria, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, to phage lysis without affecting non-targeted bacteria or exhibiting toxicity to mammalian cell lines. This compound significantly enhances the survival rate of infected mice, making it a valuable tool for investigating bacterial phage defense mechanisms and studying Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections.
