Iron(II) sulfate hydrate

Iron(II) Salt

Iron(II) sulfate hydrate serves as an iron(II) salt that acts primarily as an iron supplier. It readily oxidizes to iron(III) in aqueous environments and has been shown to induce apoptotic morphological changes in cancer cells. Additionally, it promotes dose-dependent iron accumulation in animal models. This reagent is particularly useful in research related to leukemia, breast cancer, iron deficiency, anemia, and restless legs syndrome.
