Isomaltulose monohydrate

fMLP Inhibitor

Isomaltulose monohydrate is a potent fMLP inhibitor, exerting its effects by disrupting the interaction between the βγ subunit of the fMLP receptor Gi protein and downstream signaling molecules. This compound significantly inhibits fMLP-induced superoxide anion production (IC50: 1.98 μM), cathepsin G release (IC50: 2.76 μM), and chemotaxis, thereby regulating immune responses. Isomaltulose monohydrate also modulates key phosphorylation signals in immune cells, including Src kinase, ERK1/2, p38, and AKT pathways, making it a valuable tool for studying excessive neutrophil activation and inflammation-related processes. Additionally, derivatives of Isomaltulose monohydrate show promise in inhibiting TRPC6 functional mutants associated with FSGS.
