Isometronidazole
Hypoxic Cell Sensitizer
Isometronidazole is a hypoxic cell sensitizer that enhances the effectiveness of radiotherapy in hypoxic tumor environments. In preclinical studies, isometronidazole demonstrates significant efficacy at a dosage of 750 mg/kg in severely hypoxic FaDu tumor models, while exhibiting limited activity in less hypoxic GL tumors. This compound is of particular interest in cancer research, especially in the context of improving treatment outcomes for tumors with hypoxic characteristics.
