Isovaleramide

Anticonvulsant

Isovaleramide, or 3-Methylbutanamide, primarily acts as an anticonvulsant. It inhibits alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) activity, thereby regulating the GABAergic system, which contributes to its antiepileptic, anxiolytic, sedative, and hypnotic effects. Additionally, Isovaleramide has been shown to reduce acute kidney injury, making it a valuable compound for research in neurological and renal applications.
