Kirromycin

EF-Tu Inhibitor

Kirromycin is an elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu) inhibitor that disrupts protein biosynthesis in bacterial cells. This antibiotic exhibits antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria by targeting EF-Tu and interfering with the peptidyl transfer reaction. Kirromycin is valuable for research applications focused on bacterial infections and can aid in understanding the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance and protein synthesis.
