Kojic amine

γ-aminobutyric Acid Analog

Kojic amine is a γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) analog that acts primarily as a GABA mimic, inhibiting sodium-independent [3H]GABA binding to rat brain cell membranes. It has demonstrated efficacy in reducing flexor spasms in chronic spinal rat and cat models, as well as preventing tonic extensor convulsions in mice. Additionally, Kojic amine produces a transient, dose-dependent analgesic effect as observed in the mouse hot-plate test. This compound is valuable for research applications related to skeletal muscle spasm, epilepsy, and analgesia.
