L-Sepiapterin

Phenylalanine Hydroxylase Activator

L-Sepiapterin is a potent phenylalanine hydroxylase activator that acts as a precursor for the endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) cofactor tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4). This compound enhances endothelial function and promotes angiogenesis, particularly in small mesenteric arteries from db/db mice. Additionally, L-Sepiapterin exhibits inhibitory effects on the proliferation and migration of ovarian cancer cells through down-regulation of p70S6K-dependent VEGFR-2 expression. It is valuable for research focused on hyperphenylalaninemia and related disorders.
