Laccase, Microorganisms

Multi-Copper Oxidase

Laccase, Microorganisms is a multi-copper oxidase (MCO) that is prevalent in microorganisms, plants, and fungi. This enzyme catalyzes the one-electron oxidation of diverse phenolic compounds, facilitating oxidative coupling of lignin. Laccase is instrumental in the formation and biodegradation of lignin, and it also demonstrates potential in the cross-linking of food polymers, making it valuable for various biochemical and industrial applications.
