LasB Inhibitor

LasB-IN-3 is a selective inhibitor targeting the LasB protease of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, exhibiting an IC50 value of 8.5 nM for the wild-type enzyme and 58.9 nM for the Met128Val mutant. This compound interacts with the active site of LasB, coordinating zinc ions and establishing hydrogen bonds and CH-π interactions, thereby effectively inhibiting proteolytic activity. LasB-IN-3 has demonstrated potential to enhance survival rates in murine models of LasB-induced acute lung injury, making it a valuable tool for investigating Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections.
