Lavandoside

Xanthine Oxidase Inhibitor

Lavandoside is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor with a demonstrated ability to scavenge free radicals, exhibiting an IC50 value of 71.6 μM in the inhibition of nitric oxide production in LPS-induced macrophages. This compound showcases antioxidant properties and potential anti-inflammatory effects through its modulation of xanthine oxidase activity, attributed to the hydroxyl groups within its structure. Isolated from lavender, Lavandoside is useful in the exploration of natural antioxidants and research related to oxidative stress and inflammation-associated diseases.
