Leptomycin A

CRM1 Inhibitor

Leptomycin A is a potent CRM1 (exportin 1) inhibitor that disrupts the interaction between CRM1 and nuclear export signals, thereby impeding the nuclear export of various proteins. This compound has demonstrated the ability to suppress HIV-1 replication, making it valuable for research in virology and cellular transport mechanisms. Leptomycin A is considered less potent than its analogue, Leptomycin B, and is commonly utilized in studies investigating nuclear-cytoplasmic trafficking and antiviral strategies.
