Levomenol
Bioactive Monocyclic Sesquiterpene Alcohol
Levomenol, a bioactive monocyclic sesquiterpene alcohol, exhibits significant antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic properties. It is known for its neuroprotective effects, particularly in mitigating neuronal damage and memory deficits by reducing pro-inflammatory markers associated with permanent focal cerebral ischemia in murine models. Additionally, Levomenol alleviates nociceptive behavior and central sensitization in rodent models of trigeminal neuropathic pain, demonstrating its potential applications in pain management and neuroprotection.
