Liarozole hydrochloride

RAMBA

Liarozole hydrochloride is an imidazole derivative that functions as a retinoic acid metabolism-blocking agent (RAMBA) by inhibiting the cytochrome P450 (CYP26)-dependent 4-hydroxylation of retinoic acid, with an IC50 of 7 μM. This inhibition leads to elevated tissue concentrations of retinoic acid, which is associated with its antitumoral properties. Liarozole hydrochloride is utilized in research applications focusing on cancer biology and the modulation of retinoic acid signaling pathways.
