Ligninase

Heme-containing Peroxidases

Ligninase is an extracellular heme-containing peroxidase derived from Phanerochaete chrysosporium. This enzyme effectively catalyzes the degradation of lignin, making it a valuable tool in bioremediation and waste treatment applications. By facilitating the breakdown of complex lignin structures, Ligninase also aids in the detoxification of environmental pollutants, thereby contributing to ecological sustainability.
