LK-2

ASIC1a Antagonist

LK-2 is an antagonist of the Acid-Sensing Ion Channel 1a (ASIC1a), exhibiting a Kd of 1.9 µM. This compound effectively reduces glutamate-induced enhancement of ASIC1a currents with an IC50 value of 6.6 µM. In preclinical studies, LK-2 demonstrates neuroprotective effects in an ischemic stroke model in mice, enhancing motor function and coordination. Furthermore, LK-2 is capable of penetrating the blood-brain barrier, making it a valuable tool for neuroscience research.
