LNSMGQD
Cyclic Peptid
LNSMGQD is a cyclic peptide fragment originating from desmoglein 1 (amino acids 81-86), functioning primarily by mimicking trans-interactions and forming part of the tandem peptide binding interface of desmoglein 2. This compound effectively binds to desmoglein 1 and 3 and inhibits their homophilic trans-interactions, thereby diminishing both homophilic and heterophilic binding between desmoglein 2 and Dsc2, N-cadherin, and E-cadherin. LNSMGQD is particularly relevant for investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying conditions such as Crohn's disease and pemphigus vulgaris.
