Ludartin

Antixoidant

Ludartin is a sesquiterpene lactone derived from the plant Artemisia carruthii Wood, known for its antioxidant properties. It reduces myeloperoxidase and malondialdehyde expression while enhancing glutathione and superoxide dismutase levels in spinal cord tissue. Ludartin effectively inhibits neuronal apoptosis and the upregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1β, and interleukin-6. Additionally, it has been shown to improve motor function in rats following spinal cord injury, making it a valuable compound for studying neuroprotection and inflammation.
