Lunarine

TryR Inhibitor

Lunarine is an alkaloid that acts as a TryR inhibitor, specifically targeting the protozoan oxidoreductase trypanothione reductase. It demonstrates significant antiparasitic activity due to its competitive inhibition, with a Ki value of 304 μM. Additionally, Lunarine has been shown to lower blood pressure, enhance small intestinal motility, and inhibit spontaneous contractions in both the uterus and nervous system, making it valuable for studies on cardiovascular and gastrointestinal pharmacology.
