LVGRQLEEFL (mouse) is a mimotope corresponding to amino acids 113 to 122 of apolipoprotein J (apoJ). This peptide demonstrates anti-inflammatory and anti-atherogenic activities, making it valuable for research in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. When combined with an apoJ mimetic, it forms the HM-10/10 peptide, a novel chimeric high-density lipoprotein that has been shown to protect retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and photoreceptors from oxidant-induced cell death.
