Anti-Prostate Cancer Compound
LX1 is an anti-prostate cancer compound that targets the androgen receptor (AR), AR variants, and the steroidogenic enzyme AKR1C3. It effectively inhibits the enzymatic activity of AKR1C3, thereby reducing the conversion of androstenedione to testosterone and diminishing the expression of AR and AR-V7. Additionally, LX1 downregulates their target genes and overcomes resistance in tumor cells to Enzalutamide, enhancing anti-tumor efficacy when used in combination with this agent. LX1 is valuable for research applications focused on prostate cancer treatment and drug resistance mechanisms.
