Lyxose

UDP-galactopyranotropic Enzyme Inhibitor

Lyxose is a pentose carbohydrate that acts as an inhibitor of UDP-galactopyranose mutase, making it a valuable compound in tuberculosis research. Additionally, it inhibits hSGLT5-mediated mannose uptake, demonstrating its potential in studying carbohydrate transport mechanisms. Research shows that the levels of Lyxose in the cecum of mice are reduced when subjected to a Western-style diet, highlighting its relevance in metabolic studies.
